.Latest - Lapland Buntings, Red-necked Grebe, Desert Wheatear - Norfolk

(Although I always keep one I don't seriously yearlist - mainly because I don't have the time or money to do it properly !!)

27-30/11 - A few days in Norfolk got my first Desert Wheatear for 11 years at Horsey + a selection of birds at Holme NOA including RN + Slav Grebe, LT Duck, Lapland Buntings and a Stonechat in the hand.

24/11 - An unsucessful trip to Pembrokshire produced no Pechora Pipit at Goodwick, compensation of a 'tristis'-type chiffer showing well and calling.

09/10-21/11 - CANADA!!!! A few weeks volunteering at Long Point Bird Obs in Ontario ... lots of birds ... trip report coming soon!!

04-06/10 - early morning trip to Flamborough produced good views of the BROWN FLY, then back home - then to Norfolk where I wrote off my car on the way to the Subalp at Burnam Ovary. Never did make it back there but did have a few good days at Holme with Yellow-Browed, Cetti's and Radde's Warblers all in the hand and self-found (2x) GW Egret, fly-over RT Pipit and Ross's Goose!

01/10 - dipped BRW at Salthouse but picked up RN + Grey Phal at Cley

27/09 - Birthday scillies twitch! left early to catch scillonian - lorry crashed infront of me on A30 + blocked the road for a couple of hours - raced down to penzance to find late sailing due to tides - waited for ages to get on boat - in c3 hours on St Marys got excellent views of BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT at Carn Friars + Arctic Tern, Greenshank and Com Sand (which several people claimed was the long staying Spot Sand) - had to run back from Porth Hellic to catch boat - went to Newquay for a celebratory pint!

late August sometime? - a couple of days in Cornwall, Balearic, Manx + Sooty Shear, etc etc (+GWEgret at Cotswold WP on way down)

25/08 - Ad win Wilson's Phalarope at Willen Lake, Bucks! also 26th

24/08 - Dipped Melod Warb at Flamborough but year-ticked Sooty Shear + Pied Fly, then dipped Fudge duck at Hornsea but 10 000+ Little Gulls were pretty imporessive!!

14th March-14th August - Working for the RSPB in Norfolk as a Research Assistant...
